It's Official! Dragon Ball's Trunks VA Takes Over as Detective Conan's Toru Amuro

Veteran voice actor Toru Furuya, known for iconic roles like Amuro Ray in "Mobile Suit Gundam," Seiya in "Saint Seiya," and Toru Amuro in "Detective Conan," was embroiled in scandal last May. Tabloid Shukan Bunshun reported he had an affair with a 37-year-old fan and allegedly pressured her into an abortion. Furuya later admitted his wrongdoing.

Last June, Furuya announced his resignation from the role of Toru Amuro in "Detective Conan." Now, in the "Magic Kaito and the Crown of Magic" Part 1 anime episode that aired today (January 18), his replacement has been officially confirmed: Takeshi Kusao. The change was revealed in the episode's end credits.
