The annual LEGO New Year event kicks off in grand style today (the 17th)! To celebrate the coming Year of the Snake, LEGO has created the festive "LEGO® Auspicious New Year" event, running from today until February 9th at the 2F Dream Plaza of Uni-President Department Store Taipei. This year, LEGO Taiwan, under the theme "Auspicious New Year," has built several eye-catching photo spots, including the giant "City Peace Avenue" symbolizing safety and peace, and a 3-foot-tall "God of Wealth Wishing Well" that recreates the "80117 Five Blessings Greet the Spring" New Year set, along with many fun-filled challenge experiences.
Furthermore, this year's event offers a unique experience unlike any before with the creation of the special "Home Fortune Shrine." LEGO masters Chi Hsin-Wei, Hou Yen-Yang, and Chan Cheng-Feng have been invited to create Year of the Snake-themed home decor pieces, perfectly integrating the New Year's tradition of "out with the old, in with the new" with a "LEGO® style," allowing visitors of all ages to wander through the LEGO town to collect an abundance of good fortune. During the LEGO Taiwan New Year pop-up event, a variety of "snake-sational" gift-with-purchase promotions will be offered. Among them, the most collectible item is a limited-edition "LEGO® Fortune Cat" set, designed by LEGO® Certified Professional Racky Huang in collaboration with Toy World. Only 500 of these will be available as a gift with purchase, celebrating the auspicious Year of the Snake with consumers.
The LEGO Auspicious Town is a Major Attraction! A 3-Foot-Tall "God of Wealth Wishing Well," a Giant Slide, and the "Home Fortune Shrine" Have Kids and Adults Celebrating the New Year with a Frenzy
With the Lunar New Year just around the corner, traditional customs like spring cleaning, New Year's visits, and praying for good fortune in the coming year remain essential family activities for modern households. This year, LEGO Taiwan, centered on the "Auspicious New Year" theme, has set up the "LEGO® Auspicious New Year" event on the 2F of Uni-President Department Store Taipei. The venue features an exciting and fun giant "City Peace Avenue" slide. Visitors can choose a LEGO City car to slide down, symbolizing a year of good fortune and smooth sailing. The can't-miss classic photo spot each year is the 3-foot-tall "God of Wealth Wishing Well," an enlarged recreation of the festive and auspicious New Year set "80117 Five Blessings Greet the Spring." It is complemented by a LEGO God of Wealth soaring towards the sky, inviting visitors of all ages to make their New Year's wishes for family peace and prosperity in the year ahead.
In addition to this, LEGO Taiwan has also created the highlight of the year, the "Home Fortune Shrine" themed area. This home space design brings together various LEGO sets to showcase a "LEGO® style" of home living aesthetics. Furthermore, LEGO masters Chi Hsin-Wei, Hou Yen-Yang, and Chan Cheng-Feng were invited to create six exquisite LEGO home decor pieces on the Year of the Snake theme, each with auspicious meanings: the "Spring Snake Phone Stand," symbolizing a little green and gold snake full of energy for the new year; the geometric "Coiling Dragon Chopstick Holder Set," echoing the festive atmosphere of the reunion dinner table; the "Snake Tray of Auspiciousness," symbolizing family harmony; the creative "Medusa Mirror" for a beautiful year; the "Lucky Snake Candy Box," gathering joy and sweetness; and the "Daruma Pen Holder" for good luck and wealth. These works display creative home decoration inspiration, allowing everyone to enjoy the fun of LEGO building while adding a festive New Year's touch to their homes.
"Snake-sational" Fun for Everyone! LEGO's "Fortune & Fun" Zone Features 3 Auspicious Challenges for Families to Build Good Luck for the New Year
The "LEGO® Auspicious New Year" event invites visitors of all ages to its "Fortune & Fun" zone, featuring three challenge experiences designed around the New Year theme to pray for good luck.
Step into "DUPLO Lucky Star Shining Brightly" to drive the fortune train and collect lucky instructions, earning a commemorative fortune ticket stamp that signifies great luck in the new year. Next, enter "Wealth All the Way" and use the new LEGO Super Mario series sets to work together and collect gold coins on the racetrack, ensuring a year full of wealth. Finally, at the last good luck station, "LEGO Climbing Higher," enjoy freely building and stacking in a massive LEGO brick pit. The higher you build, the more you'll advance in the new year, filling your home with blessings and good fortune.
In addition to the auspicious challenges, LEGO is also launching gift-with-purchase promotions. New Products Launch at Designated Stores Nationwide! The Perfect Home Decor Helper, LEGO® Botanical Collection's "10342 Elegant Pink Bouquet," Makes Its Debut at the Pop-Up Store
LEGO has once again launched stunning New Year sets this year. "80116 Fortune Arrives Lantern" is not just an exquisite decoration but a miniature world full of stories. The set includes mini-scenes like a food stall and a shadow puppet theater, and with a light brick, it projects delicate shadow puppet effects, as if condensing the lively scenes of a traditional festival. It also comes with a Year of the Snake limited-edition minifigure, echoing the zodiac theme. "80117 Five Blessings Greet the Spring" features a vase with red fortune fruits, persimmons, and gold ingots, along with a scroll with the Chinese character for "Spring" and a calligraphy brush. Paired with a magnificent fan and two magpies perched on blooming branches, it symbolizes double happiness. Full of exquisite details, it's perfect for home decor to attract abundant blessings in the new year.
As the new spring begins, festive floral arrangements are an indispensable touch in most homes. The LEGO® Botanical Collection has always been a favorite among consumers. This year, LEGO is launching "10343 Mini Orchid" and "10344 Lucky Bamboo." Together with last year's "10368 Chrysanthemum" and "10369 Plum Blossom," they form the "Four Gentlemen" of flowers. These four sets were co-created by Taiwanese LEGO fan "ZiO Creation." Each presents the plant in a pot, creating lifelike floral models with a small number of parts. The "Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum" not only symbolize wealth, fortune, and blessings but also add a touch of elegance to New Year's home decor.
Moreover, the physical event venue will exclusively pre-release the "10342 Elegant Pink Bouquet." With its delicate pink hues and customizable stem lengths, this bouquet is set to become a focal point for home or office decor this New Year, bringing good fortune to every household.
