X-PLUS "Gamera" 1/700 Scale Assembly Model from "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion", Segmented Design Recreates the Film's Impressive Form!

Japanese company X-PLUS (株式会社エクスプラス) recently unveiled a new product based on the film "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion" – a "Gamera" 1/700 scale assembly model, with a suggested retail price of 5,940 JPY, scheduled for release in June 2025!

"Gamera 2: Attack of Legion", released in 1996, is the second film in the Heisei Trilogy directed by Shusuke Kaneko. Set one year after the previous installment, the story depicts the battle between the extraterrestrial silicon-based lifeform "Legion" and the Japan Self-Defense Forces, alongside Gamera.

This product renders Gamera's appearance from the film as a 1/700 scale assembly model, with a finished height of approximately 10 cm. It features sculpted, biologically-textured wrinkles on the skin, rough textures on the sharp claws, and a segmented design for the dorsal and ventral plates, perfectly recreating the intricate details of its profound form. Gamera's fierce face is also exquisitely reproduced! The official website currently displays a 3D-printed, painted prototype. The actual product will be an unpainted assembly model, requiring glue for assembly. Toy enthusiasts can also showcase their skills by painting it themselves to recreate Gamera's appearance from the film!
