BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., is releasing the highly popular second series of its "Chiikawa: These Small, Cute Dolls" Shokugan products. Originally scheduled for release last August but delayed twice due to various reasons, it is now finally confirmed for a February 2025 launch. Official product images for all eight characters have also been unveiled.
The "Chiikawa: These Small, Cute Dolls" series brings popular characters from "Chiikawa" to life in a compact size of approximately 4 cm tall. Not only do they faithfully reproduce the adorable designs and facial line art drawn by Nagano-sensei, but their entire surface is also created using electrostatic flocking to achieve a soft, fuzzy texture. Each doll comes with a dedicated stand to display their charming poses.
Unlike the first series, the second wave will feature the three main characters – Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi – in jumping poses. Additionally, five new characters – Otter Master, Shisa, Kogane, Furuhon-ya, and Ano Ko – will make their debut in the product lineup (the four-legged Ano Ko can stand independently and does not include a stand). They will all be available in their compact, fuzzy, and adorable forms!
