Bandai's 3D Painting Model 'TAMASHII ART' Announced, First Release to Recreate Dragon Ball's Final Chapter Cover Illustration in 3D!

Today, BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, officially announced the brand-new finished model series 'TAMASHII ART'. The first product in the series will bring to life the classic cover illustration from Akira Toriyama's iconic manga, Dragon Ball. A prototype will be unveiled tomorrow at the 'DRAGON BALL TAMASHII NATIONS FIGURE EXPO', with detailed product information expected to be announced in March 2025.

The new 'TAMASHII ART' series will encompass classic flat illustrations from famous works, utilizing Bandai's sculpting technology to transform the characters, backgrounds, and text within the artwork into stunning three-dimensional forms with exquisite dimensions and angles, meticulously painted to reproduce the original colors. The frame-shaped base allows for versatile display, whether hung on a wall or placed on a flat surface as an art installation. Integrated LED lighting further enhances the viewing experience, allowing appreciation of the artwork from various angles as it breaks free from the confines of 2D.

The inaugural product will feature the cover illustration from Dragon Ball's final chapter (519). The title text "DRAGON BALL", the clouds in the background, Goku gazing into the distance and seemingly saluting, and the original version's distinctive blue Shenron are all meticulously sculpted in exquisite proportions. These elements are layered within the frame space, and combined with the integrated LED lights around the perimeter, they create soft yet realistic lighting effects.
