Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy division is once again releasing a new product in its "Sleeping Squad" (Nemurase-tai) series, which features characters in relaxed, sleeping poses. This time, it's the highly popular anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" themed "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Sleeping Squad Vol. 2" gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with an estimated release in late May 2025!
"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is a manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 2016 to 2020. In April 2019, it was adapted into a TV anime by ufotable, becoming a phenomenal hit during the 2020 pandemic. The official announcement last year revealed that the final arc of the series, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Castle Arc," will be released as three theatrical films in the future!
Following the release of main characters like Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko in the previous first volume, this "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Sleeping Squad Vol. 2" gashapon features the five "Hashira" who first appeared in the series, rendered in an adorable approximately 2.5-head-tall chibi proportion. They are depicted in various relaxed sleeping poses, with five types included: Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tengen Uzui, and Muichiro Tokito. Despite their chibi proportions, the sculpting faithfully recreates each character's design details, and their disheveled sleeping forms, true to their individual personalities, are incredibly cute!
