Following last summer's release of "Trap," renowned thriller director M. Night Shyamalan continues to develop multiple projects. The latest to move forward is an untitled supernatural romantic thriller, a collaboration with Nicholas Sparks, the author of "The Notebook" (pictured below), with Jake Gyllenhaal confirmed to star.

Deadline further reported that Shyamalan and Sparks are actually developing the same original concept and characters into different mediums, with Shyamalan penning the screenplay and Sparks writing a novel, working independently.
