BANDAI CANDY, the popular candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today officially announced the latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM": the "Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam Option Parts Set," scheduled for release in June 2025.
The protagonist Kira Yamato's new mobile suit, the ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, is a new machine developed using the latest technology from Morgenroete, half a year before the main story of "FREEDOM," after the Strike Freedom Gundam was unsuccessfully stolen by terrorists and shot down. While its external appearance has not undergone significant changes, its armaments, with the exception of the High-Energy Beam Rifle, have all been updated. Notably, a powerful weapon is hidden in its forehead, but due to its excessive destructive power and high energy consumption, it cannot be utilized in this form.
After combining with the new enhanced equipment "Proud Defender," piloted by Lacus Clyne, to form the ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam, it can disperse nanoparticles via brainwave transmission and unleash a wide-range, powerful high-voltage current to destroy enemy mobile suits. Concurrently, the strongest weapon hidden in its head, the "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon," can also be deployed. Furthermore, to counter enemy mobile suits with strong beam resistance, the unit is equipped with a sharp physical sword, the "Futsunomitama."
The "G-FRAME FA Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam Option Parts Set" is an expansion part designed for use with the separately sold "G-FRAME FA 07 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam" main unit. It includes the "Futsunomitama" with a painted and color-separated hilt, antenna parts for the deployed muzzle of the "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon," a "Lacus Mini Standee" that can be attached to the shoulder, and more, allowing for the recreation of scenes from the series.
Additionally, a complete set of dedicated parts is included to recreate the "Strike Freedom Gundam Type II," featuring armaments such as the "Super DRAGOON" mobile weapon wings, two beam rifles in their connected state, deployed waist railguns, beam sabers, a beam shield, and the Prototype 35th Railgun. The "Super DRAGOONs" can be equipped with impressive Wings of Light effect parts, and all 8 mobile weapon wings can be individually detached and combined with dedicated display bases and stands to recreate the powerful "Full Burst" mode.
