SQUARE ENIX Japan has announced the second product in its new soft vinyl figure series, "Polygon Soft Vinyl Figures (ポリゴンソフビ)", based on their popular video game "FINAL FANTASY VII". The "Sephiroth" figure is scheduled for release in May 2025.
The immensely popular and charismatic antagonist, Sephiroth, was once the strongest member of the "1st Class" elite unit within Shinra's private military force, the "SOLDIER". He possessed strong elite qualities, a calm, brave, and responsible personality, and was very caring towards his subordinates, earning him widespread admiration. However, during the "Nibelheim Incident" five years before the main story, Sephiroth learned about his origins, the Ancients, meteorites, and vast planetary knowledge from the Lifestream. He then secretly began preparing to cast the ultimate destructive magic, "Meteor", to strike the planet, intending to merge with the overflowing Lifestream as the planet healed itself, thereby becoming a "god-like" entity.
The "Polygon Soft Vinyl Figure Sephiroth" is based on his appearance in the original 1997 PlayStation version of "FINAL FANTASY VII". At an approximate height of 15 cm, it faithfully recreates his low-polygon form, with angular long hair, bottle-like arms, and a pyramidal lower body, evoking players' memories of the original game. Simple horizontal swivel articulation is included in the arms, waist, and feet.
