Released by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. Japan, the 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, announced the latest product from the new Gundam series anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", the "HG 1/144 Red Gundam", scheduled for release in May 2025.
The RX-78-02 White Gundam was originally the latest model mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079, but due to the successful snatch operation by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot Char Aznable, this unit, along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1 "Pegasus", fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon. After modifications, it became Char's personal mobile suit, the "Red Gundam". However, in an accident at the end of the One Year War, Char and the Red Gundam disappeared without a trace... In Universal Century 0085, a mysterious young pilot appeared with the Red Gundam in the illegal MS combat arena "Battle Royale".
The "HG 1/144 Red Gundam" utilizes Bandai's latest color separation, part division, and articulation mechanism technologies to recreate the design style of Ikuto Yamashita from "Neon Genesis Evangelion". However, judging from the previous "HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX", there are still many details that will require users to apply stickers or even paint for color correction. The armament includes a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, meteor hammer, and two funnels.
