Penned by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah, the light novel series "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" has spawned multiple TV anime seasons and movies. With its third anime season kicking off last April, the series continues to ride a massive wave of popularity among light novel adaptations.
Back in June of last year, we got the exciting news that a second movie was in the works for the series. Today (February 4), the official announcement dropped: the next cinematic adventure is titled "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea" (劇場版 転生したらスライムだった件 蒼海の涙編), and it's set to hit theaters in February 2026.
The "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" anime boasts three seasons to date, plus the spin-off "The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime." It's undeniably one of the most successful light novel adaptations out there!
Fans previously enjoyed the first movie, "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond," released in 2022, which earned high praise for its original storyline.

With the official reveal of the second movie, "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea," a new concept visual has also dropped, showcasing a dazzling, radiant blue ocean. It leaves us wondering: what kind of story will unfold this time? And what exactly will Rimuru see reflected in the vastness of this sea?
With a February 2026 release locked in, we can expect more details to surface soon! Following the pattern of the previous film, it's highly likely this one will also feature an original story. Fans of the "Slime" series, keep an eye out for official updates to see what epic tale awaits us next!
