For many, childhood memories are practically synonymous with McDonald's Happy Meals. Beyond the food, those special toys and giveaways are definitely a cherished part of growing up. In Japan, this tradition is still going strong with regular updates, often featuring two or more exciting collaborations at once.
Recently, McDonald's Japan announced a fresh team-up with the Pokémon FRIENDA arcade game and the children's book series Poképeace. Starting February 14th, every Happy Meal purchase will score you either an exclusive "Friend Picks" card or a Poképeace picture book!
This collaboration is split into two awesome Pokémon offerings. First up is the brand-new arcade game, Pokémon FRIENDA, which launched in Japan last year. It boasts "dual-machine play" and intuitive touch screen and button controls, bringing you closer to the Pokémon action. For this collab, six exclusive red-colored cards will be available as Happy Meal giveaways, perfect for your collection!
The second offering dives into the official Pokémon picture book series for kids, Poképeace. This time, fans can choose between "Deshiiri Suizokukan" (a picture book about an aquarium) and "The World's Most Confusing Animal Encyclopedia Quiz Book" from the mini-encyclopedia series.
