Japanese virtual idol group Aogiri High (aogiri kōkō), under viviON, dropped a bombshell announcement today (Feb 10): first-year student Oshiro Mashiro, who has been on an extended hiatus since May last year due to health issues, will officially graduate on February 28, 2025. Her long period of rest, unfortunately, hasn't allowed her to recover to a state where she can resume streaming activities.
▼ The announcement immediately shot to the top of Japan's X trends.
Oshiro Mashiro kicked off her activities in May 2020, joining alongside Yamaguro Nekuro as a first-year student. While she might have looked like a lively, artistic beauty, in reality, she loved to drink, often leading to hilarious (or chaotic) streaming incidents when she got tipsy.
Despite her talents in drawing and singing while playing instruments, her bizarre planning and chat styles earned her the nickname "Comedian VTuber" from fans. She even hosted several "enema streams" – a truly unexpected move that completely defied her cute avatar! This unique approach won her a massive fanbase, boasting over 380,000 channel subscribers.

According to Oshiro Mashiro's handwritten letter, released by the official channels, she expressed deep regret that her extended break hadn't allowed her to recover to her ideal state. She reflected on her four years, which flew by, saying they were truly joyful, like reliving high school all over again.
She extended heartfelt thanks to all her supporters, hoping to use the experiences gained over these four years to help others and not let them go to waste.
With 4 years and 10 months of activity under her belt, that's a seriously impressive run in the VTuber world! Especially considering Aogiri High itself had a bit of a rocky start, Oshiro Mashiro truly carved out a distinct VTuber persona within the group. Here's hoping she takes good care of herself post-graduation and finds a new stage where she can shine!
