American toy giant Hasbro has announced a new product in its Transformers-themed series, "Transformers Timelines": "Comic Edition Optimus Prime and Starscream"! Pre-orders are now open on the Hasbro Pulse official website, with an estimated shipping date of July 2025 and a suggested retail price of $59.99 USD.
This Transformers toy is based on the 2006 comic series "The Transformers: Hearts of Steel." These Transformers from Cybertron are still engaged in the struggle between the Autobots and Decepticons, but their awakening on Earth doesn't occur in the modern era we're familiar with. Instead, it's set around the 18th and 19th centuries during the Industrial Revolution. Based on the human technology and science of this period, both Autobot and Decepticon vehicle modes feature steampunk-style locomotives, biplanes, and other fascinating designs.
Appearing together as a bundle, the Hearts of Steel Comic Edition Optimus Prime and Starscream stand approximately 14 cm and 12 cm tall respectively in robot mode. Optimus Prime transforms into a steam train in 19 steps, while Starscream transforms into a sharp-looking biplane with a retro-futuristic feel in 18 steps. Accessories include an ion blaster smokestack, a train roof shield, and two gatling blasters. The packaging design is also excellent and incredibly appealing! Bumblebee and Megatron are expected to be released later – we can't wait!
