Takanori Nishikawa Hits Taiwan for "Thunderbolt Fantasy: Bewitching Melody of the West" Premiere, Gets Curious About "Chin Chin Asparagus Juice"

Known affectionately by fans as "The Guru," Takanori Nishikawa has expanded far beyond his roots as a singer in recent years. Even at 54, he maintains an impeccable physique and his popularity shows no signs of waning.

Yesterday (February 14), Nishikawa arrived in Taiwan for the premiere of "Thunderbolt Fantasy: Bewitching Melody of the West," a theatrical film co-produced by Pili International Multimedia and Japan. He was joined on stage by screenwriter Gen Urobuchi and voice actors Kōsuke Toriumi and Rie Kugimiya. However, today, Nishikawa took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his curiosity about a Taiwanese beverage, "Chin Chin Asparagus Juice," specifically its peculiar bottle design and flavor, asking for netizens' opinions.

Nishikawa's post read:

"Saw this asparagus juice backstage in Taiwan. Taste aside, this packaging illustration has some serious personality... Seriously, what kind of mood are you supposed to be in when you drink this? (๑‾᷄ϖ‾᷅๑)" It seems the "Chin Chin Asparagus Juice" packaging, particularly the illustration of a foreign beauty, really caught his eye—it's definitely not your typical beverage design!

Many Japanese netizens were amused by the swimsuit-clad beauty and her pose on the "Chin Chin Asparagus Juice" bottle. While it looks like a healthy drink, Taiwanese netizens chimed in to explain that asparagus juice indeed offers health and beauty benefits, promoting metabolism, making it a genuinely good beverage choice.

It's true that many Japanese visitors have been intrigued by the "Chin Chin Asparagus Juice" packaging over the years. For Taiwanese people, though, it's an iconic drink. We're just left wondering if The Guru actually enjoyed the taste!
