The highly anticipated 2025 Gundam anime, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," a joint production by animation giants Khara and Sunrise, has been generating significant buzz among fans since its announcement. The theatrical version, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-," which compiles select episodes, has already seen impressive box office success.
While the broadcast date for the "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" TV anime remained under wraps, today (February 23) the official announcement dropped: it's set to premiere on April 8, 2024. The number of initial episodes has yet to be revealed.
Beyond the premiere date, the TV series will feature the same theme song as the theatrical version: "Plazma," created by Kenshi Yonezu. The track is currently dominating music charts across Japan. Meanwhile, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-" has already smashed past the 2.5 billion yen mark at the box office after just one month in theaters. This incredible feat makes it the second-highest-grossing Gundam film ever, trailing only "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM." For a preliminary theatrical release, these are seriously impressive numbers, clearly demonstrating the immense appeal of this new Gundam entry.
Even though this early theatrical cut is essentially just the first few episodes of the TV anime, it has drawn massive crowds of fans. With the dream team of Khara and Sunrise at the helm and the TV anime kicking off in April, both the movie and the series are shaping up to be absolutely unmissable!
