BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, will release a new product in its popular "Chogokin" die-cast toy series: a "Mach 5" (マッハ号) die-cast model based on the classic anime "Mach GoGoGo." The suggested retail price is 55,500 JPY, with an estimated release in September 2025!
"Mach GoGoGo" (マッハGoGoGo) is an anime series produced by Tatsunoko Production in 1967, adapted from Tatsuo Yoshida's manga "Pilot A" (パイロットA). It tells the story of race car driver Go Mifune, who races his father's custom-built "Mach 5" against drivers worldwide. He discovers an organization attempting to influence races, causing accidents every time, and he tries to use the Mach 5 to fight and stop them.
This Chogokin Mach 5 is crafted in 1/18 scale, measuring approximately 27 cm in length. It recreates the Mach 5's streamlined design using a composite of die-cast and plastic materials. Through cleverly integrated mechanisms and abundant accessories, it faithfully reproduces the seven special A-G functions: the A button's AUTO JACK, the B button's BELT TIRE, the C button's CUTTER, the D button's DEFENCER, the E button's EVENING EYE with LED light-up function in the car's front, the F button's FROGGER for shallow water submersion, and the G button's "Swallow" (燕子號) which can be stored in the front compartment, offering an incredibly rich play experience!
The accessories also include character figures of the protagonist Go Mifune and the heroine Michi Shimura, which can be posed together to recreate scenes of them speeding in the Mach 5! Additionally, a dedicated display base featuring the "Mach GoGoGo" logo and an acrylic display case are included, allowing all toy enthusiasts to proudly display and cherish this item!
