The assembly model 'MODEROID' series, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product from the anime "Patlabor", the "TYPE-7 Brocken", scheduled for release in October 2025. This product will be simultaneously released in a standard color scheme, the red color scheme from the old OVA, and a special GSG-9 specification version available exclusively at the Good Smile Company online store.
The TYPE-7 Brocken is a military Labor developed by Shaft Enterprises' European division, primarily used for border patrol by NATO countries and the West German armed forces. In the 1998s, it was a humanoid machine on par with the Ingram. Although slightly inferior in operational precision and flexibility, it boasted superior power and armor strength. Notably, its high-airtightness armor design allowed the Brocken to be used in underwater environments.
The "MODEROID TYPE-7 Brocken" is crafted with multi-color parts and waterslide decals, resulting in a 13 cm tall model that closely resembles its appearance in the series once assembled. Its design faithfully reproduces the high-airtightness armor with minimal gaps and the spherical camera unit structure within the head armor. Each joint features flexible articulation, allowing for dynamic combat poses with the included interchangeable hands and long/short barrel 40mm rapid-fire machine cannons.
The "MODEROID TYPE-7 Brocken OVA Color Ver." features the main body molded in the red armor color seen in the old OVA, with a design fundamentally identical to the standard version. Its armament is changed to a "105mm Cannon", which includes hose parts for connecting to the main body and interchangeable parts to recreate the deployed bipod state.
The limited-edition "MODEROID TYPE-7 Brocken GSG-9 Ver." adds numerous additional armor parts to the upper body, recreating the specifications used by the special unit GSG-9. Included waterslide decals allow for reproducing the markings on the shoulder and chest armor, among other areas. Its included armaments are changed to a machine gun and waist-mounted smoke grenade launchers.
