Mattel Creations, the online sales platform of American toy company Mattel, which collaborates with fan creators to sell products, will launch a new collaborative product between the classic toy series "Polly Pocket" and the popular American sitcom "The Office" — the "Polly Pocket x The Office" Mini Character Playset. The suggested retail price is $50 USD, and it is now available for pre-order on the Mattel Creations official website, with an estimated shipping date of March 14, 2025!
The Polly Pocket series was launched in 1989 by the British toy company Bluebird Toys. It was a toy series created by designer Chris Wiggs for his young daughter, Kate. Its main feature is condensing complete scenes or stories into mini, portable sizes, allowing interaction and play with mini figures and the environment. The series' copyright became Mattel's property after Mattel fully acquired Bluebird Toys in 1998. In recent years, the "Polly Pocket Collector" series has been launched, featuring collaborations with various popular TV shows!
The exterior of this "Polly Pocket x The Office" Mini Character Playset is designed in the shape of the "WORLD’S BEST BOSS" mug that Dunder Mifflin Scranton Regional Manager Michael Scott bought for himself. It miniaturizes and rearranges several areas of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch office from the show—the entrance, Michael's office, the conference room, the main office area, and the breakroom—into a foldable playset. Sticker printing is used to recreate various scene details, such as the blinds and the painting on the wall drawn by Pam. Furthermore, the "Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Inc." text on top can be flipped to change into "Michael Scott Paper Company," recreating the scene from Season 5 where Michael starts his own venture!
The figures included are Boss Michael Scott, Assistant to the Regional Manager Dwight Schrute, female lead Pam Beesly, male lead Jim Halpert, Customer Service Representative Kelly Kapoor, and Accountant Kevin Malone. While not all characters from the office are included, the distinctive features of each character are vividly reproduced!
Accessories include the "Dundie" award trophy, Dwight's beet, the stapler Jim put in jello in the pilot episode, Kevin's famous chili, and the green teapot Jim gave Pam for Christmas in Season 2, among other interesting items. It also comes with a bat and a cat figure that can be hidden in the ceiling, recreating the scenes from Season 3 where a bat attacks Meredith and Season 5 where Angela throws her cat into the ceiling, respectively. Furthermore, there are many more small Easter eggs waiting to be discovered, so fans of "The Office" should definitely not miss out!
