Issued by Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY, the popular "Nendoroid" series, which boasts over a thousand different products, has announced its latest release from "Gintama": "Nendoroid Katsura Kotaro". The suggested retail price is 6,900 JPY, with an estimated release in June 2025.
Katsura Kotaro, modeled after the samurai Katsura Kogoro from the Bakumatsu to Meiji periods, is Gintoki's former ally and one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Joui. He possesses smooth, straight black hair and, when silent, can be considered a cool and handsome man. He is especially beautiful when disguised as a woman, "Zura-ko." Unfortunately, he has a twisted mind and erratic thoughts, harboring extremely wild delusions beneath his calm demeanor. It is rumored that he has a strong interest in married women and widows, but he himself claims, "It's not that I like married women, I like NTR." When called by his nickname, he will earnestly explain, "It's not Gay, it's Katsura." (ヅラじゃない、桂だ).
The "Nendoroid Katsura Kotaro" stands approximately 10 cm tall, faithfully recreating his iconic Q-version design with long black hair, a blue yukata, and a white haori. It comes with three interchangeable face plates: a "calm face" that hides his inner delusions, a "shouting face," and a cheerful "smiling face." Accessories include the Wild Nobleman's favorite "bomb" and his beloved "soba noodles" (unfortunately, no stick-like objects).
