Released by Japanese hobby manufacturer MEGAHOUSE, the "RAHDX" series—which brings many popular characters from the Gundam series to life as high-quality pre-painted figures—has announced the latest addition from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ: "Excellent Model RAHDX G.A.NEO Elpeo Ple Re." It is scheduled for release in August 2025.
The "Psycommu System" that appeared at the end of the One Year War revealed the immense potential of Mobile Suits paired with Newtype pilots. However, while machines could be mass-produced, the crucial Newtype pilots remained extremely rare. The Earth Federation, distrustful of Newtypes, turned to inhumane "Cyber-Newtype" modification and brainwashing procedures. In contrast, Neo Zeon, led by Haman Karn, utilized cloning technology to mass-produce Newtypes known as the "Ple Series." The characters "Elpeo Ple" and "Ple Two" featured in ZZ are both young girls around 10 years old; they share identical appearances but possess polar-opposite personalities, one energetic and warm, the other cold and distant.
The "Excellent Model RAHDX G.A.NEO Elpeo Ple Re." is a revised version based on the original 2015 release. Standing at approximately 18 cm in a 1/8 scale, it captures Ple in a vibrant and adorable dynamic pose. The left hand includes interchangeable parts to recreate two different poses. The face features an entirely new sculpt, boasting a more delicate face shape and a more defined nose compared to the original version. The mouth now includes sculpted upper teeth, and the eye printing has been brightened to perfectly convey Ple’s lively and cute personality.
Furthermore, the overall paint application has undergone a significant overhaul. While the original release used colors closer to the animation settings, this new version faithfully restores the pastel-toned palette seen in the original prototype official photos from years ago. This includes bright pastel hues for the hair and outfit. Notably, the green fabric on the collar and buttocks—which was a flat, dull green in the old version—now features high-contrast green tones to emphasize wrinkles, shadows, and body contours, giving the overall sculpt a much more three-dimensional feel.
