GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan has announced the latest product in its popular "Nendoroid" series, which boasts over a thousand different items: "Nendoroid Ruri Aoki," based on the manga "RuriDragon." The suggested retail price is 6,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in September 2025.
The fantasy slice-of-life manga series "RuriDragon" (ルリドラゴン) by mangaka Masaoki Shindo tells the story of protagonist Ruri Aoki, who one morning wakes up to find a pair of strange horns growing on her head. Her mother simply tells her, "Just be yourself, you won't die." Bringing her unresolved confusion to school, she naturally causes a stir among her classmates; and when she accidentally sneezes, fire even shoots out of her mouth... It turns out Ruri is like this because she inherited her father's dragon bloodline... Wait, Ruri's dad is a dragon?!
"Nendoroid Ruri Aoki" stands approximately 10 cm tall. This Q-version figure faithfully recreates Ruri's appearance as she dutifully wears her school uniform despite having dragon horns on her head. Her distinctive eyes are reproduced with rich colors, and the small fangs (dragon fangs?) in her mouth are incredibly cute! Three interchangeable face plates are included: a wide-mouthed "smiling face," a bewildered and helpless "crying face," and a sweating "timid face." Accessories include an "onigiri," "flame effect parts," "electricity effect parts," and more. Combined with a variety of interchangeable hand parts, you can enjoy Ruri's fantastical and heartwarming daily life!
The Good Smile Company Online Store bonus is a smartphone + dedicated hand part.
