Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO recently announced the release of a new product based on Universal's classic Dark Universe film "Creature from the Black Lagoon" – the "Gill-man" Timed Edition 1/6 scale articulated figure. Released in 1954, "Creature from the Black Lagoon" is a black-and-white monster horror film distributed by Universal Pictures. The story follows an expedition team composed of scholars from various fields who encounter a mysterious monster attack while exploring the Amazon region of South America. The monster becomes deeply infatuated with female team member Kay Lawrence and attempts to abduct her...
This 1/6 scale articulated Gill-man figure brings his classic cinematic appearance to life, sculpting the intricate details of his special effects suit from the film. The seamless, rubberized body design recreates incredibly realistic textures, with the quality of the scales and facial wrinkles also exquisitely reproduced through paint application!
Accessories include the fossilized hand from the film, chain handcuffs, a harpoon, a dedicated display stand, and a set of interchangeable hands. The biggest highlight, however, is undoubtedly the inclusion of a head sculpt and chest replacement part from the sequel, "Revenge of the Creature," allowing collectors to simultaneously display looks from both films. When not in use, the extra parts can be displayed independently as a bust using the dedicated stand!
The Timed Edition further includes a diorama base inspired by model toys from the 1970s, presenting the environmental details of the base with even finer craftsmanship, allowing for display to recreate the scene of the creature emerging from the water in the film!
