Netflix's upcoming "The Chronicles of Narnia" film series has been generating significant casting buzz. Last week, Deadline reported that British singer Charli XCX was in talks to portray the formidable White Witch, Jadis. Now, the outlet has further revealed that Daniel Craig has also been approached for a role, though he has not yet officially committed, with Netflix awaiting his final decision.

While Deadline noted it was unclear which role Craig was offered, another media outlet, What's on Netflix, has since reported that Craig is slated to portray Uncle Andrew Ketterley, a magician and alchemist and one of the primary antagonists in the new series' first installment.

British actor Jason Isaacs inadvertently let slip last year that the new "Chronicles of Narnia" adaptation would begin with "The Magician's Nephew," the sixth book in the original series, in which Uncle Andrew is a central character.

The first two films in Netflix's "The Chronicles of Narnia" series are confirmed to be written and directed by "Barbie" filmmaker Greta Gerwig. Production is reportedly set to begin this June and continue through the holiday season, with a projected release in November of next year. While "The Magician's Nephew" is the sixth book by publication order, its prequel storyline makes it the earliest chronological entry in the entire series.
