BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan has announced today that the latest product from the official side story "New Mobile Report Gundam Wing DUAL STORY G-UNIT", the "HG 1/144 Leon", from the highly diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, is scheduled for release in June 2025.
The OZ-06MS-SN3 Leon is a customized Leo unit piloted by Broom Brooks, one of the "Stardust Three Knights" belonging to OZ Prize. Compared to the chivalry-obsessed Leos and the mobility-specialized Leol, the Leon is based on the "OZ-06MS Leo" but features an added high-output engine and heavy armor. Its limb parts have been replaced with specifications similar to the "OZ-07MS Tragos", giving it excellent defensive capabilities and melee combat performance suitable for close-range battles.
The "HG 1/144 Leon" utilizes numerous new parts to recreate its heavy armor design, which differs from the Leo, and its axe-shaped head that can be used as a weapon. The articulation design for the limbs is the same as the Leo, and a new pull-out joint has been added to the chest-shoulder connection, allowing the shoulders, which are equipped with large shields, to maintain a certain range of motion.
Since its original armament only included vulcan cannons and beam sabers built into its shoulders, the HG model kit designs a brand-new weapon for the Leon: the "Warrior's Great Axe". This axe boasts a massive size comparable to the main unit, and its axe blade, golden emblem on the grip, and other parts are also separately molded and color-separated. It can be posed with weapon-holding hands to recreate dynamic two-handed swinging stances.
