Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's toy brand BANPRESTO, which excels at showcasing character figures and various prize items, will release its latest product, "NARUTO: Shippuden Cosplay Plush Toy ~Gaara's Gourd~," based on the theme of "NARUTO: Shippuden," allowing you to experience the cool, chuunibyou feeling of carrying a gourd! It is scheduled for release in August 2025.
The popular character "Gaara," who appears in the "NARUTO: Shippuden" series, is known as "Gaara of the Sand Waterfall." He is the son of the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa. At birth, the giant tailed beast, "Shukaku the One-Tail," resembling a tanuki, was sealed within him. While becoming a Jinchuriki, Gaara's mother also sacrificed her life. Although he possessed the powerful ability to freely manipulate sand, he suffered from severe insomnia, always having deep dark circles under his eyes; even his father viewed Gaara as a threat and sought to assassinate him. His lonely and tragic childhood experiences caused Gaara to lose his emotions. He carved the kanji for "love" (愛) onto his forehead with sand and unleashed Shukaku's power, becoming a person who "only loves himself and fights for himself."
The BANPRESTO prize item "NARUTO: Shippuden Cosplay Plush Toy ~Gaara's Gourd~" is modeled after the large sand-filled gourd on Gaara's back. It recreates the cracks on the gourd and the patterns resembling an eye chart (which it isn't) in plush toy form. Although it can be carried on the back like a backpack, the currently released information indicates that it is merely a simple plush toy with no backpack function! It's so useless! (That's a compliment!)
