Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division is set to release its latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans," the "MG 1/100 Gundam Vidar," on March 22, 2025. On the eve of its release, the official site has unveiled new information, including the product's box art design and actual sample images.
After Gaelio Bauduin miraculously survived being betrayed by McGillis, he donned a mask and took the alias "Vidar" to exact his revenge. The Gundam Kimaris Vidar he piloted was subsequently repaired and disguised as the ASW-G-XX Gundam Vidar. This unit is equipped with the "Alaya-Vijnana System Type E," a combat assistance system developed using the brain of the fallen Ein Dalton. It is capable of achieving reaction speeds and mobility comparable to the traditional Alaya-Vijnana System, while eliminating the risks of high-danger implantation surgery and severe burden on brain nerves.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Vidar" has been thoroughly supervised by mechanical designer Ippei Gyobu. The characteristic "Gundam Frame" from the series is an improved version based on parts used for the previous Barbatos model, further expanding the range of motion for the shoulder joints. Corresponding to Gundam Vidar's distinctive leg design, not only do the pop-out knee armor and thrusters articulate when the legs bend, but the blades on the front and back of the feet can also deploy to recreate attack poses.
By swapping parts, the cockpit can reproduce both the activated and non-activated states of the "Alaya-Vijnana System Type E." Weapon accessories include a rifle with a detachable magazine, several "Burst Sabers" stored in sheaths on both sides, and two handguns featuring an original model "recoil action" articulation mechanism, allowing for the recreation of in-show combat scenes with the main unit's flexible articulation.
