BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, based in Japan, has announced the latest product from its High Grade (HG) series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its diverse range of mobile suits. The new release, "HG 1/144 Rebawoo (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)", is from the official side story A.O.Z Re-Boot Gundam Inle -The Dream of the Black Rabbit- and is slated for release in May 2025. This product will be exclusively sold on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The AMX-014R Rebawoo is a mass-production model developed by the Mars Independent Zeon Forces to support their ally, Neo Zeon (formerly Axis), based on the "AMX-014 Doven Wolf". To reduce construction costs and improve productivity, some parts of this unit adopt specifications common to the then-mainstay "Zaku III R-Type", while also incorporating new mechanisms from the "Geara Doga" series mobile suits developed by Axis. Regarding weaponry, this unit re-organized the Doven Wolf's excessive firepower, externalizing various high-power weapons such as the Incom, chest Mega Particle Cannon, anti-ship missiles, and more. Through a modular system, weapons can be selected according to mission requirements.
The "HG 1/144 Rebawoo (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)" is being three-dimensionalized for the first time with entirely new parts, faithfully recreating the design by mechanical designer Kenki Fujioka. Even the inner side of the rear skirt armor is fully detailed without any omitted parts. The dark green armor, yellow piping, and the red muzzle of the chest Mega Particle Cannon are all reproduced using part molded colors, and water-slide decals for the unit's markings are included.
The articulation features include a multi-axis neck joint, a movable mono-eye camera, a forward-sliding mechanism for the chest armor on both sides, a rotating axis for the hip joints, a pull-out waist joint, movable backpack base, and interlocking mechanisms for the knee and ankle joints, allowing the Rebawoo to strike various dynamic and cool poses.
Accessories include two head parts to recreate both standard and commander unit designs. In addition to the chest Mega Particle Cannon and missile pods on both sides of the backpack, handheld Beam Machine Gun and Beam Sword Axe are also included. The Beam Sword Axe features an extendable mechanism that allows it to transform between sword and axe forms without part replacement, and beam effect parts for each form are provided.
Furthermore, the Rebawoo can be interchanged with parts from previously released kits such as the backpack and arms of the "HG 1/144 Doven Wolf" and the fuel tanks of the "HG 1/144 Sinanju". It can also use knee joint connection parts to transplant its legs onto the "HG 1/144 Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] Psycho Blade Custom (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)".
