Now, Cate Blanchett has joined their ranks, openly stating her strong intention to retire during a recent interview with the British publication "Radio Times."

Blanchett shared, "My family rolls their eyes every time I say this, but I'm serious, I really want to give up acting. I have many other things I want to do in my life." While many actors have made similar pronouncements over the years, most remain active in the industry and haven't truly retired. Only a select few, like Michael Caine, have consistently spoken of retirement for years and then genuinely committed to no longer taking on new roles. As for how serious Blanchett is about stepping away from the screen, only time will tell.
