The film reunites the creative team behind "Top Gun: Maverick," with Jerry Bruckheimer producing and "Maverick" co-writer Ehren Kruger penning the script. Seven-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton serves as both a producer and a key consultant on the project.

The story follows Sonny Hayes (Pitt), once a promising F1 prodigy in the 1990s whose career was nearly cut short by a devastating crash. Thirty years later, the reclusive and difficult-to-work-with Hayes is a driver-for-hire. He's lured back into the world of Formula 1 by his former team owner (Bardem), who needs him to help elevate a struggling team. Hayes is paired with hotshot rookie Joshua Pearce (Idris), but the young driver has his own way of doing things, clashing with the veteran's old-school philosophy and distrusting his methods.
