The highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto 6," a title drawing global attention, recently announced its launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms in Fall 2025. While this means players will have to wait another year, the official team also simultaneously released the second trailer, bringing a bit of surprise and comfort to long-awaiting fans. However, whether this wait will truly end depends on whether the game can be released on schedule without a second delay.

Addressing the decision, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the reasons behind the delay in an interview with IGN.
He stated, "As we get closer to the completion of a title that is striving for perfection, it becomes clearer whether it needs additional polish. This time, we saw an opportunity to allow Rockstar Games to fully realize its creative vision without limitations, simply by taking a bit more time. I, of course, fully support that direction."

While the delay disappointed many players, Zelnick emphasized that Take-Two has historically delivered titles on time once a specific release date is set. Therefore, the possibility of "Grand Theft Auto 6" being further delayed is quite low.
Rockstar also mentioned in an earlier announcement that this extra time is to "deliver the quality that players expect and deserve," indicating the development team's high standards for product quality. Although the delayed launch might impact Take-Two's short-term financial reports, the company still has several new titles slated for the new fiscal year, including "Borderlands 4," "Mafia: The Old Country," and the latest installments of "NBA 2K" and "WWE 2K."
