The upcoming MCU film "Captain America: Brave New World," set to release in February 2025, is already drawing significant attention, especially for Harrison Ford's portrayal of President Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross and his transformation into the "Red Hulk."
In a recent interview, director Julius Onah revealed a behind-the-scenes plan that was ultimately scrapped. He shared that the production team had once considered having Red Hulk wield a gun in the film as a tribute to his comic book origins.

"We were looking at some of the comics and the idea of Red Hulk with a gun, but ultimately, it just didn't quite fit the tone of the movie we were making, so we scrapped it," Onah explained.
While the image of a gun-toting Red Hulk is certainly compelling, the team opted for a more grounded portrayal to align with the film's overall style, leaving this particular concept on the cutting room floor. However, Onah's revelation has only fueled fan anticipation for Red Hulk's future in the MCU.
The character's weaponized look first appeared in the 2008 comic series "Hulk" issues #1 and #2. In that storyline, Red Hulk uses a golden, high-tech firearm to kill Abomination, with the weapon later revealed to have been stolen from a S.H.I.E.L.D. armory.

It is not yet clear if Harrison Ford will return to the MCU, but Marvel Studios seems to have laid the groundwork for his future appearance as Red Hulk. It remains to be seen whether this will be in a future "The Avengers" film or the long-rumored "World War Hulk" project.
