From Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy brand in Japan, the "Creature Encyclopedia" sub-series "Creature Encyclopedia Soft Vinyl Collection" is set to release its latest product: the "Creature Encyclopedia Soft Vinyl Collection Leopard Gecko and Crested Gecko" Gashapon! There will be five types available, with a reference price of 500 JPY per capsule, scheduled for release in September 2025.
The first installment of the soft vinyl series, the "Creature Encyclopedia Soft Vinyl Collection Leopard Gecko and Crested Gecko" Gashapon, transforms popular pet reptiles into approximately 8cm palm-sized figures. Sculpted by Makoto Kobo, it realistically reproduces the crown-like protrusions on the Crested Gecko's head and the spiny skin details of the Leopard Gecko. Master Jiro Miura is responsible for the painting, meticulously recreating the textures of their large eyes and their distinctive patterns and spots, resulting in figures that are both adorable and realistic. The collection includes: Leopard Gecko (High Yellow), Leopard Gecko (Tangerine), Leopard Gecko (Black Night), Crested Gecko (Flame), and Crested Gecko (Dalmatian). Holding them in your palm offers a substantial feel!
