Japan's GOODSMILECOMPANY, under its "Nendoroid" line of over a thousand types of posable figures, will release a popular character from "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters": "Nendoroid Katsuya Jonouchi". The suggested retail price is 6,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in December 2025.
Katsuya Jonouchi is protagonist Yugi Muto's classmate and close friend. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father was an alcoholic and a gambler, causing Jonouchi to briefly stray and become a delinquent. After befriending Yugi, he reformed himself. To earn the high medical expenses for his sister Shizuka's eye disease and to repay his father's debts, he participated in the Duelist Kingdom tournament. Although his dueling skills were initially poor, he made significant progress in a short period thanks to his courage and strong willpower, acquiring his signature card, "Red-Eyes Black Dragon," after battling Ryuzaki.
The "Nendoroid Katsuya Jonouchi" stands approximately 10 cm tall, faithfully recreating Jonouchi's iconic school uniform look in an adorable proportion. Face plates include a confident "signature face," an enthusiastic "smiling face," and the "Perfect Jonouchi Face" that gained immense popularity in the anime series "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters"! This reproduces his classic chin, allowing for various meme-worthy scenes. Accessories include "cards," a "Duel Disk," and more, enabling duels with the separately sold "Nendoroid Yami Yugi."
