For many of our readers who are parents, you've probably got your own parenting tales to tell. Sometimes, kids' innocent (or utterly baffling) antics can drive you absolutely bonkers, but hey, it's all part of that sweet burden, right?
Recently, a Japanese mom on X (formerly Twitter) shared a parenting scare that had her on the edge. When she pulled out her oven tray, she heard a strange rattling sound. Turns out, her kids had set an "oven trap" inside! Her experience resonated with countless other parents.

The netizen, known as "きゃっさば" (Kyassaba), a mother of two, recounted how she heard an unusual "clattering" when pulling out the oven tray. Sensing something was seriously off, she investigated and discovered the oven was stuffed with Tomica toy cars.
"This is totally a trap; moms are tested every single day," she wrote. Luckily, she found them in time, otherwise, the whole kitchen might have gone up in flames. She pointed out that these hazards are tough to spot because the toys were hidden at the bottom of the oven, out of sight. She wryly added, "It's definitely on hard mode..."
The oven wasn't the only culprit. The mom also added, "Before, I heard a weird noise when the washing machine was running, and it turned out toys had been stuffed in there too. Thankfully, I found them before the drying cycle. So dangerous!"

Her post immediately sparked a flurry of responses from fellow parents. Many shared their own similar close calls: "Our toaster was full of stuff; almost ended up with a plastic smell." "I heard a friend found batteries hidden in their oven by their kid, and they exploded!" "My kid even figured out how to unlock the child safety locks and turn on the gas stove. Terrifying." "Please, kids, let your intelligence catch up, or we're literally playing with fire every day."

Some netizens joked, "Good thing it didn't turn into a 'baked Tomica' dish!" Others were impressed by the mom's intuition, exclaiming, "Being able to spot something like that is a superpower!"

This incident serves as yet another reminder for parents of young children: kids' curiosity knows no bounds. Any place that can be opened or have things stuffed into it can become a potential hazard.
It just goes to show that for parents with little ones, every day is truly like a real-life puzzle game. It takes not just love, but also "detective instincts" and "firefighter reflexes." It's a sweet burden, indeed!
