The upcoming "The Batman" villain spinoff film "Clayface," helmed by British horror director James Watkins ("Eden Lake," "Speak No Evil"), has officially announced its lead actor. British actor Tom Rhys Harries (pictured below) has been cast in the titular role.
Compared to previously rumored contenders—including Daniel Radcliffe, Jack O'Connell, Tom Blythe, George MacKay, and Leo Woodall—Harries is a less established name. However, if "Clayface" is met with a strong reception, the role could mark a major breakthrough for his career.

The initial draft of the "Clayface" script was penned by "Doctor Sleep" director Mike Flanagan. With a production budget of approximately $40 million, filming is expected to begin this year. The film is described as a Hollywood-set horror story about a B-movie actor who injects a mysterious substance to preserve his looks, only to accidentally gain the ability to reshape his appearance and body, transforming into a monstrous creature. The film is slated for a September 11 release in North America next year.
