More than a month after reports surfaced that "X-Men" producer Simon Kinberg had spent two years quietly developing a new "Star Wars" trilogy, Jon Watts was tapped to direct its first installment — and what is being billed as Episode X of the main saga. Watts previously helmed the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first three "Spider-Man" movies. Now, more alleged details about Episode X appear to be emerging.
FivesWalker shared its latest claims on X:
The original "New Jedi Order" story reportedly followed an older Rey as she trained two apprentices: a rebellious young man with a bad-boy streak and a perfectionist young woman. Kinberg was later brought in to overhaul the script. Since then, FivesWalker said every piece of insider information it had heard about Episode X sounded remarkably similar to "New Jedi Order." The account therefore speculated that the Rey movie was initially intended to bridge the sequel trilogy and Kinberg's new films, but has since been merged into Episode X. FivesWalker also maintained that "New Jedi Order" is no longer moving forward as a standalone project.

After FivesWalker's report gained traction, fellow insider Cartier Films said it had heard similar details. The outlet added that Rey's two apprentices would be in their 20s and that their romance would play a major role in the story. Earlier rumors suggested that "New Jedi Order" drew inspiration from the Japanese anime feature "Your Name" (君の名は。), and FivesWalker reported that Episode X would retain that influence.
