The "Expo 2025 Osaka" kicked off in April, drawing massive crowds. Its official mascot, "Myaku-Myaku," has become a sensation, sparking a buying frenzy with a slew of collaborative merchandise.
Recently, Japanese origami artist and X user Tetsu (@kurogane_og) shared their latest creations: two unique pieces inspired by Myaku-Myaku, crafted entirely from origami. These high-level works, reminiscent of Evangelion units and Angels, have captivated countless netizens who are praising the artist's incredible creativity.

Tetsu is a master of origami, meticulously crafting each component by hand. We've previously featured their stunning origami rendition of the Red Gundam from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX".

Once again, Tetsu has unleashed their origami prowess. They explained that these are their personal interpretations, bringing a fantastical, otherworldly vibe to "Myaku-Myaku-sama," with each of the two pieces boasting distinct characteristics.
The first piece, a more humanoid creation, draws inspiration from "Neon Genesis Evangelion's" EVAs. Its limbs and facial features are rendered in Myaku-Myaku's signature blue, while the mascot's iconic red eyes encircle its neck, evoking a high-dimensional being from another realm. Tetsu noted that this piece uses approximately 60 origami parts, relying on geometric shapes to minimize the number of assembled components.

The second piece, a more beast-like creation, was designed with Pokémon's Necrozma in mind. Its blue body forms a bipedal, beast-man stance, with Myaku-Myaku's red eyes creating a mane-like structure around its head that extends into a tail-like shape at the back. This intricate piece required about 90 origami parts.

Both works have been hailed by netizens for their striking resemblance to "Neon Genesis Evangelion's" EVAs or Angels, exuding an intimidating aura that completely transforms Myaku-Myaku's usual cute image.

Naturally, this incredible origami skill has garnered immense praise and recommendations from users, who never imagined origami could be so epic.
