Known for his critically acclaimed, often somber dramas like "The Place Beyond the Pines" and "Blue Valentine," director Derek Cianfrance is set to deliver a rare comedic turn this fall with his new film, "Roofman." Following the release of initial production stills (pictured below), the movie's first trailer has now officially dropped.
"Roofman" is based on the unbelievable true story of Jeffrey Manchester, a former U.S. Army Ranger and struggling father. Desperate and out of options, Jeffrey begins robbing McDonald's restaurants by drilling holes through their roofs, earning him the infamous moniker "The Roofman." After a daring prison escape, he secretly takes up residence in a Toys "R" Us for six months, meticulously planning his next heist. However, his carefully constructed double life begins to unravel when he falls for Leigh, a divorced single mother, setting off a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game as his past catches up to him.

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Channing Tatum, Juno Temple, Ben Mendelsohn, Jimmy O. Yang, Kirsten Dunst, Peter Dinklage, Tony Revolori, LaKeith Stanfield, and Uzo Aduba. "Roofman" is scheduled for a theatrical release in North America on October 10.
