The 'BANPRESTO EVOLVE' series, a line of high-quality prize figures from Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company under the BANPRESTO brand, known for its excellent proportions, colors, and sculpting, has unveiled the prototype for its latest work, the '-GUNDAM Collaboration- Character Figure,' stemming from the 'Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku' collaboration project. It is slated for release in December 2025.
The 'Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku' collaboration project, announced in October 2024, has invited multiple artists to participate in its creation. It has not only produced illustrations that merge Hatsune Miku with famous Gundam mobile suits but also released a collaborative song, "Idol Senshi / アイドル戦士 (feat. Hatsune Miku)," which remixes classic theme songs from various past "Gundam" series and incorporates numerous Gundam references. The project will launch a wide array of collaborative model kits, toys, and merchandise featuring the Gundam IP and Hatsune Miku in 2025, and has also announced collaborations with Bandai Namco's "Taiko no Tatsujin" and "Gundam EXVS. Series."
The "Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku -GUNDAM Collaboration- Character Figure" being released is based on the main visual drawn by illustrator Mai Okuma for the collaborative music event "GUNDAM METAVERSE LIVE HATSUNE MIKU." It features intricate sculpting that captures Hatsune Miku's dynamic twin-tails, a concert outfit that blends Federal Forces uniform elements with Gundam armaments, and a passionate singing pose with her left hand raised while holding a microphone. It also boasts rich color applications, faithfully reproducing the vibrant hues at the tips of her twin-tails and the golden lines on her costume details.
