GUNDAM BASE, the official Gunpla flagship store for Japan's "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, has announced that the latest event-exclusive product from "Mobile Suit Gundam", the "MG 1/100 Gouf Ver.2.0 [Clear Color]", will be available for sale at all Gundam Base stores starting July 26, 2025.
The MS-07B Gouf is a mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon military during the One Year War. After successfully landing on Earth, the Zeon forces realized that the performance of their main ground combat mobile suit, the "Zaku II J-type", was no longer sufficient for the evolving battlefield. Thus, they developed the "MS-07B Gouf", specialized for close-quarters combat. Its most famous pilot in the series is Ramba Ral, known as the "Blue Giant". While this machine inherited characteristics of the Zaku in appearance, its fundamental characteristics differ. Not only was its armor lightened and engine output increased, but it also featured auxiliary propulsion systems in its legs to enhance mobility, allowing for agile close-quarters combat using its Heat Saber, Heat Rod, and the 5-barrel finger machine gun built into its left palm.
The "MG 1/100 Gouf Ver.2.0 [Clear Color]" is based on the general release kit from 2009, with all blue, dark blue, black, and orange exterior armor parts now rendered in a clear color scheme. The internal frame utilizes a metallic gray molding color with metallic particles. This not only allows the intricate details of the internal frame to be seen through, but also makes it more convenient for special customization techniques such as lighting and glow-in-the-dark paints, presenting a distinct style compared to regular Gunpla.
