Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are both set to return for the sequel to their beloved fantasy comedy, "Practical Magic." Production officially began today, with Warner Bros. Pictures sharing a brief behind-the-scenes video from the first day of filming across its social media platforms, offering a first look at Kidman and Bullock's new looks for the sequel.
Days before filming commenced, Deadline exclusively revealed the new additions to the cast: Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña (pictured below), and Solly McLeod. Joey King, who played Kidman's daughter in last year's "A Family Affair," will now portray Bullock's daughter in the upcoming film.
Also confirmed to return from the original cast are two-time Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actress, Dianne Wiest, and Tony Award winner Stockard Channing.

"Practical Magic 2" will be directed by Susanne Bier, known for "Bird Box," with original co-writer Akiva Goldsman returning to pen the script. Producer Denise Di Novi, also returning, revealed last year that the sequel is primarily adapted from "The Book of Magic," the fourth installment in the original novel series. The film is slated for a global release on September 18, 2026.
