The plastic model kit series 'MODEROID', launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product, 'LUXON', from the anime 'BUDDY COMPLEX', slated for release in February 2026.
The 'XV-7001 LUXON', piloted by the protagonist Aoba Watase in the series, is a prototype Valiancer secretly developed by the Free Treaty Alliance military, standing approximately 18 meters tall. It is equipped with an assault rifle, NECTOR Sword, shield, and other armaments, possessing excellent combat capabilities even as a standalone unit. However, when deployed alongside its brother unit, the 'XV-7002 BRADYON', and activating the 'Coupling System', energy wings form on its back, enhancing its mobility. Furthermore, these energy wings can combine with BRADYON's to activate the defensive function 'Code T2 Rise', which defends against frontal attacks, thereby unleashing the unit's true performance.
The 'MODEROID LUXON' kit is comprised of multi-colored molded parts, some pre-painted parts, and decals. Once assembled, it forms a highly articulated model approximately 137mm tall. Its overall design faithfully reproduces the sleek and cool aesthetics from the anime, featuring flexible movable joints and armed with accessories such as an assault rifle, NECTOR Sword, and shield, allowing for dynamic combat poses.
Furthermore, by swapping parts, you can recreate LUXON's appearance after activating the 'Coupling System' with its brother unit BRADYON, featuring a clear part for the head visor and transparent parts for the 'Aeroscale' energy wings on its back in Coupling Mode. It can also be linked with the separately sold 'MODEROID BRADYON', utilizing the joint parts included in that kit to reproduce the iconic back-to-back 'Code T2 Rise' scene of the two units.
