The HasLab division of the renowned American toy brand Hasbro, which issues high-priced, large-scale collectibles through crowdfunding projects, unveiled its latest crowdfunding initiative at the recently concluded annual San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC). This new project for their Star Wars-themed 3.75-inch toy line, "The Vintage Collection," is the "Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry Gunship" (LAAT/i Gunship) 3.75-inch action figure scale vehicle model. The crowdfunding campaign is priced at US$449.99 and has officially launched on the Hasbro Pulse website's HasLab page. It will run until 11:59 PM ET on September 8, 2025, requiring at least 8,000 backers to fulfill the basic proposal. Shipping is estimated for Fall 2026!
The Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry Gunship (LAAT/i Gunship) was the Republic's primary aerial support and troop transport during the Clone Wars. Its main missions included deploying clone troopers to battlefields and providing air-to-ground and air-to-air fire support. It could carry an entire platoon of thirty clone troopers in its main bay and was specifically designed for low-altitude flight within planetary atmospheres, giving it a significant advantage when engaging below mountain heights.
This LAAT/i Gunship, crafted by the HasLab team in collaboration with Lucasfilm, is an upgraded version of a previously released model. Measuring 73 cm long, 78.5 cm wide, and 26.9 cm high, its dimensions perfectly recreate the on-screen proportions, allowing 3.75-inch clone troopers to stand fully upright inside without touching the ceiling! The team has meticulously restored the vehicle's shape, with intricate details such as piping, paneling, and weathered hull exquisitely reproduced. It also comes with various interchangeable exterior parts, allowing collectors to recreate the LAAT/i Gunship's appearance from different factions!
The vehicle is equipped with 2 top missile launchers, each containing 9 removable missiles, and 4 removable missiles under each wing. It also features rotatable wing cannons that can lock into position. While none of these features are designed to fire, they still convey powerful firepower! The front cockpit canopy opens to accommodate two figures, with a hidden storage compartment on the ship's roof behind the cockpit. The two front bubble turrets can each hold one figure. The rear cargo bay's side panels can open, revealing 3 movable laser cannons, allowing for a large number of clone troopers to be placed inside, enhancing the gunship's combat readiness!
The figure portion includes two LAAT/i Gunship Clone Pilot figures, upgraded from the previous Republic Gunship version. They feature recreated details from the helmet tubing extending to the chest control box, accurate helmet markings, and each comes with a DC-15S carbine blaster and a DC-15A blaster rifle. Collectors who prefer carded Star Wars figures need not worry, as these two pilot figures will be packaged both loose and as individual carded figures, allowing for perfect display!
This project will also unlock different tiers of 3.75-inch carded action figure stretch goals based on the number of backers achieved: 10,000 backers will receive the Vurk Jedi Master "Coleman Trebor" (colloquially known as "Jedi Dinosaur"); 12,000 backers will receive the Iktotchi Jedi Master "Saesee Tiin"; and 14,000 backers will receive the Iridonian Jedi Master "Agen Kolar." This is definitely an opportunity to acquire a large number of The Vintage Collection clone troopers to display alongside multiple Jedi Masters for epic battle scenes!
