Marvel Studios and the Russo Brothers' upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday" is once again making headlines. Renowned scooper MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH) claims that the production team used "Luke Cage" as a codename for Chris Evans on set, reportedly to conceal his return to the MCU. This revelation immediately ignited fan speculation, especially given persistent rumors that Evans will reunite with Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter in the film.

The film's production reportedly involved constructing a 1960s-style house in Windsor Great Park, UK. According to leaked shooting plans, Captain Marvel's spaceship is slated to land there. During filming, the crew employed various codenames to maintain secrecy, including "Iron Fist" and "Annie Reynolds." Theories suggest the house might belong to Captain America and Peggy Carter, with the storyline potentially involving heroes traveling through time to recruit them in the fight against the villainous Doctor Doom.
While Evans has publicly denied his involvement in "Avengers: Doomsday," multiple international media outlets have reported that both he and Atwell have indeed joined the cast, though they were not part of the initial official announcements. Insiders further suggest that Marvel may release a new wave of cast announcements later to sustain promotional momentum.

When questioned about preventing plot leaks during the promotion of "The Electric State," Joe Russo emphasized that the team is "experienced in secrecy." He revealed that a significant portion of the film is shot within studios to minimize the risk of unauthorized photography. Anthony Russo added that location scouting also prioritizes preventing story details from leaking.
"Avengers: Doomsday" boasts a star-studded cast. In addition to familiar faces like Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Robert Downey Jr., the film is also set to feature stars from "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" and the "X-Men" series, making it the largest ensemble in MCU history.
The film is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, with its sequel, "Avengers: Secret Wars," following on December 17, 2027.
