TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, has announced the latest product from the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to give tokusatsu heroes their original handsome appearance and natural articulation. The "Kamen Rider No. 2 / Hayato Ichimonji" from "Kamen Rider THE NEXT" is scheduled for release in February 2026.
Between 2005 and 2007, Toei released two films, "Kamen Rider THE FIRST" and "Kamen Rider THE NEXT," to carry on the story of the original "Kamen Rider," which was highly popular nearly 35 years prior. This series was not merely a remake of the "Kamen Rider" televised back then, but rather an adaptation of Shotaro Ishinomori's manga, depicting the story of Takeshi Hongo and Hayato Ichimonji fighting against the Shocker organization, and their subsequent encounter with Shiro Kazami (V3), all in a mysterious and eerie style true to the original work.
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider No. 2 / Hayato Ichimonji" is crafted based on the appearance of the action actor in the suit from the series. It utilizes numerous new parts for the shoulders, abdomen, legs, and more to recreate the distinct height and physique different from No. 1. Not only are the full-body wrinkles of the special reinforced suit meticulously sculpted, but transparent parts and fabric are also used to represent the compound eyes and red scarf, respectively. Digital printing is employed on the side of the helmet to reproduce the battle damage left after fighting Shocker.
The overall articulation is designed with motorcycle riding in mind. In addition to utilizing modern new joint parts for an excellent range of motion, the abdomen and belt area parts are made of soft vinyl, allowing for significant waist bending and a more natural riding posture. Furthermore, the product will include a head part for "Hayato Ichimonji," as portrayed by Hassei Takano at the time, thoroughly recreating his facial features and contours from that era by combining 3D scanning and skeletal sculpting techniques.
