Woody Allen recently drew criticism last month during his visit to the Moscow International Film Festival in Russia, where he expressed a desire to film in the country. Now, not long after, he's sparked another controversy by discussing sensitive political figures on Bill Maher's podcast, "Club Random." Over two decades ago, Allen briefly collaborated with then-businessman Donald Trump in his 1998 film "Celebrity." Although Trump's screen time was limited, Allen was reportedly impressed by his performance, calling him an excellent actor. This revelation has naturally displeased some anti-Trump netizens.

During the podcast, Allen stated: "I'm one of the few people who can say I directed Donald Trump in a movie. I directed him in 'Celebrity.' It was a very pleasant experience working with him; he was a great actor, very polite, and his performance was spot-on. He has a natural talent for show business. I hope I can direct him again now, if he'd let me. Now that he's president, I think I could really make him shine."

However, Allen also emphasized that he is not a political supporter of Trump and disagrees with many of his views, even voting for Kamala Harris in the last presidential election. Nevertheless, as an actor, he acknowledged Trump's charisma on camera.
