In today's streaming-dominant landscape, it's increasingly rare to find actors who haven't participated in a streaming project. However, some performers remain highly selective about streaming offers, citing a general lack of confidence in the quality of these productions. Channing Tatum is one such actor. In a recent interview with Variety, Tatum stated, "The whole industry is messed up right now. Streaming has had a huge impact on the industry — good and bad — and the studios and streamers themselves have no clue."

Tatum further elaborated that the generous upfront payments offered by streaming platforms have fostered a chaotic incentive system in Hollywood, enticing actors to accept subpar scripts. "You're encouraging me to make a low-quality movie, a B-level script, a mediocre formulaic script," he asserted.
Tatum isn't alone in his concerns. Brendan Fraser, who also starred in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" alongside Tatum, recently spoke to Variety about how streaming has influenced his script selection. However, for Fraser, the impact stems from audience engagement rather than overall production quality. "Audiences are more focused, and if they want, they can skip to the next one. I welcome this challenge; it means you have to raise the bar, be more careful in choosing scripts, and do better," Fraser explained.
