If you're into Gunpla, you've probably dabbled in all sorts of customization – painting, cutting, weathering, you name it! These techniques really make your models pop, and some even go as far as bringing their wildest, imagined mobile suits to life.
Recently on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan, one Gunpla builder took inspiration from artist Fujinaga Taka (@takanasu05)'s short manga to create an epic rendition of the fictional mobile suit "Act Dijeh." Using a Jagd Doga Gunpla as the base, they repainted and modified it to perfectly match the manga's design, earning massive praise from both fellow fans and the artist themselves!
This custom unit, "Act Dijeh," appeared in Fujinaga Taka's manga as Amuro Ray's personal mobile suit, specially introduced by Char Aznable. Its concept is a brilliant mashup: taking cues from the Principality of Zeon's Jagd Doga from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack" and blending them with the Dijeh, a mobile suit Amuro piloted in "Mobile Suit Z Gundam." Decked out in Federation Forces colors, it truly stands out as a unique, fictional machine.

Inspired by the manga, X user 猫屋敷 (@nekoga_takusan) decided to bring this mobile suit to life. They grabbed a Jagd Doga Gunpla and went to town with repainting and modifications, meticulously recreating the manga's design. And boy, did they nail it!
During the 3D realization process, @nekoga_takusan shared that they tried their best to match the overall proportions and stance to the artist's illustrations.
Even the panel lines and sticker placements were meticulously arranged to mirror the original artwork. Their only regret? The head's intricate horn design proved too complex for their current skill level, making a perfect recreation just out of reach.
Still, this exquisite build and ambitious attempt earned a retweet and high praise from artist Fujinaga Taka, who was genuinely impressed by its incredible quality.
This project truly showcases the endless possibilities of Gunpla. Even fan-made concepts can be brought to life with skillful craftsmanship. So, if you're ever hunting for your next big inspiration, why not look to similar fan creations?
