Pokémon Legends Series' Third Installment Reportedly Returns to Galar; Multi-Region Remake MMO Planned After Gen 10

Just when we thought the "TERAleak" saga was over, the Pokémon series is once again caught in a massive data breach! New leaks are spilling the beans on Game Freak's development roadmap for the next few years, including a rumored "Pokémon Legends: Galar" and a multi-region remake. If these whispers are true, the Pokémon franchise is gearing up for an unprecedented "multi-world era."

According to various data miners and the notorious leak account Centro Leaks, the third installment in the Pokémon Legends series is set to take us back to the Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield. The story is reportedly set "one thousand years ago" and will revolve around the creation of Dynamax Poké Balls. This title is expected to drop in 2027 or later, following Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the recently announced "Z-A," making it the third entry in the Legends saga.

The same batch of leaked files also allegedly revealed Game Freak's long-term development schedule: The tenth generation's new titles, "Pokémon Winds and Waves," are slated for a 2026 release, with DLC expansions arriving the following year. "Pokémon Legends: Galar" will then pick up the series' historical narrative, followed by a "multi-region" remake, which could arrive as early as 2028.

This rumored multi-region remake is said to encompass four Japan-inspired regions—Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh—and might even launch as a massive multiplayer online (MMO) game, allowing players to freely travel between different areas. If this holds true, it would mark the biggest technical and structural overhaul in Pokémon history.

Meanwhile, the tenth generation's "Pokémon Winds and Waves" remains a hot topic. This game is rumored to be inspired by Indonesia and Southeast Asia, featuring a "procedurally generated island" map and a weather-system battle mechanic. Its theme is "Infinity," with series veteran Shigeru Ohmori directing, and it's expected to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform.

Official statements regarding these leaks have yet to be made. However, many anticipate that Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will officially unveil the tenth generation's new titles during the "Pokémon Day" event on February 27, 2026. That's when fans will finally get a glimpse of this rumored series evolution, and we'll find out just how accurate these leaks truly are.
